Joseph Nelson is admitted to practice before the Illinois and North Carolina state courts, and before in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He practices defense litigation, focusing on the defense of hospitals, physicians, and other health care practitioners. Mr. Nelson was born in England and grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago. In 1998, he earned a B.A. in economics from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he played contrabassoon in the St. Olaf Orchestra and interned in the Minnesota State Senate. He earned his J.D. with a certificate in trial advocacy from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2006, where he was a member of the Annals of Health Law. He holds a private pilot's license and is a classically trained chef.
